Thomas Glasmacher is the FRIB Project Manager and Project Director of the FRIB Cooperative Agreement between the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) and Michigan State University (MSU). Certainly FRIB has generated lots of headlines in Michigan and around the physics world. And of course, given the communication landscape today (fewer people doing actual reporting, more and more people blogging, tweeting or otherwise opining about what they think the news is), it doesn't take much for even basic facts to get garbled.

The FRIB project team is pleased that the Cooperative Agreement between the Department of Energy and Michigan State University is in place. We are now moving into the next phase of the project, which includes the analysis of alternatives and research and development activities.
